Donate blood yourself and encourage others to donate blood.
Today is Tuesday, June 14, World Blood Donor Day 2022. The purpose of this day is to encourage the general public, including those who are saving millions of lives by donating blood voluntarily and for free World Blood Donation Day was first observed in 2004 with the experience of celebrating World Blood Donation Day since 1995 and World Health Day in 2000 with the theme 'Safe Blood'.

Every year since the World Health Assembly in 2005, the World Health Organization has been urging people to observe this day Already 182 countries have joined the movement. It is also celebrated with utmost importance in Bangladesh. Blood donation and blood transfusions have been used for the human body since time immemorial. Blood donation is also a very pious or rewarding work from the religious point of view. Eminent researcher Dr. MM Majed, the founder of the National Patient Welfare Society, wrote a column on today's topic. The number of blood donors is still negligible compared to the population in Bangladesh. Although the demand for blood in the country is 8 to 9 lakh bags per year, blood is collected from six to six and a half lakh bags. In addition, only 30 percent of the collected blood comes from voluntary blood donors. Most people still rely on professional blood donors for blood unless they have family members or acquaintances. Every year many patients face life crisis due to lack of blood.
According to the World Health Organization, 92 million people worldwide donate blood each year. However, in the developed world the rate of voluntary blood donation is 40 per thousand but in the developing world it is less than four per thousand.

Donating one's own blood voluntarily for someone else's need is blood donation. To donate blood, you have to be 18 years old. Every three months, every healthy and adult man and woman will be able to donate blood safely and securely. It will not have any harmful effect on health. Rather, blood donation increases the body's resistance to disease. Below are 6 benefits of blood donation.

1)     Regular blood donors have a lower risk of developing cancer.

2)     Giving blood three times a year increases the rate of formation of new red blood cells in the body. It keeps the bone marrow active. Rapid anemia is met.

3)     The level of cholesterol in the blood decreases, it keeps the blood pressure under control. As a result, the risk of heart disease and heart attack is greatly reduced.
4)     The calories consumed by blood play an important role in weight loss and blood pressure control.

5)     Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C, jaundice, malaria, syphilis, HIV or AIDS is a major disease in the body - whether it is known at no cost.

6)     Increases immunity.

6)     The body is in balance.

6)     It is possible to save a person's life.

Before donating blood, each blood donor is asked some personal and important questions related to his / her health. They have to be answered correctly. Blood donors' body temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate are checked and a small amount of blood is taken to determine if the blood donor's blood is sterile. This blood is also used to check whether there is any clotting in the blood of the patient blood donor (crossmatching). If a blood test shows the presence of AIDS, Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C, Syphilis or any other germs in the blood, he (the blood donor) is advised to take necessary measures The process of donating blood begins with the sensation of a needle. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Before donating blood, care must be taken - adequate ventilation system. Blood donors can drink pure water if they feel the need. Head-body should be parallel while donating blood. When it comes to giving blood away, you have to rest for a while. After donating blood, you must lie down for at least 5 minutes. [It is very important for blood flow to be normal throughout the body]. There is usually no need to take extra expensive food after donating blood. However, after a week of blood donation, you need to drink twice as much water as usual at other times. Because about 80 percent of the blood [usually 1 pound] donated by a blood donor is filled in that time. It only takes 120 days or 4 months for red blood cells to fill up. The date after blood donation must be remembered Most blood donors do not feel any problem after blood donation. However, in some cases, blood donors may experience lower abdominal pain, weakness, dizziness, red spots and pain at the site of needle insertion. In rare cases, blood donors may lose consciousness or have muscle spasms. However, in most cases these problems are cured within 48 hours, no medication is required.

History of blood donation: When the eighth pope had a stroke in 1492, doctors thought the pope thought he was bleeding somewhere. To save the pope, blood was drawn from the bodies of three 10-year-old boys and made to drink. Since there was something called blood vessels then, that was not known. So everyone thought that if blood is eaten, it will enter the body. The blood of those three children was taken in exchange for just one gold coin. Sadly, three children died as a result of taking blood. But the pope survived. Everyone thought that the pope had survived because of that blood. The following year, Pope died of a second stroke without any announcement. Since then no one has dared to donate blood. Let's take a look at how blood donation revolutionized the human world.

Finally, on World Blood Donor Day, we remember these 3 people, whose contributions have saved the lives of countless peopleJune 14 is World Blood Donation Day, dedicated to the people behind these voluntary and free blood donations, to these unknown heroes. There is another significance of celebrating 14th June. Scientist Carl Landsteiner was born on this day. This Nobel laureate scientist discovered blood groups 'A, B, O'. So let's give our own blood to save people suffering from life threatening diseases. Encourage others to donate blood. Give blood! Save a life! With just one bag of blood, it is possible to save four lives, not just one. Because one bag of blood as its component can be divided into four parts to circulate in the body of four people. The components are: 'Red blood cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate'. The day is celebrated mainly to evaluate and recognize the donations of those who donate blood voluntarily and free of cost to save lives, and also to encourage the common people to donate bloodAnd one bag of your blood can save four lives. Give blood! Save lives! And since there are no religious restrictions on the lives of the dying and in public service, programs such as the celebration of World Blood Donation Day 2022 will undoubtedly play a fruitful role in raising public awareness.
